Nokia E71 Review

Honestly to say, I am not a fan of Nokia though I know those guys are professional in producing mobile phone all along the time and they’ve created so many high performance phones. But since last time I’ve got an E61i, I became much friendly to Nokia and, actually, I am no a big fan of the E series. Fine, I am so love the E series. And of course I won’t miss the Nokia E71.

In my mind, the QWERTY keypad is the main point worth me to pay attention to E71. You may like to correct me that Nokia just copy this from BlackBerry. Well, this does not matter anything, because, all behind the keypad are the combination of powerful functions from the brand mobile producer. Mention in passing, BlackBerry  is also on my taste. Come back to the QWERTY keypad, it is just worth one word, ergonomic! As we know, the concept of QWERTY comes from the idea of computer keypad. I am so satisfied with the familiar sense when texting of writing or making notes on the cute stuff. Shortcut keys are also useful but one thing makes me feel a kind of hurt is, the navigation key is easy to be scratched.

Well, as a powerful 3G smartphone, the keypads are not the focus absolutely. So just check other features of the stunning. The Nokia E71 works on Series 60 Symbian version 3.1. It is not the latest version, but, the advantage is, the phone will support larger range of softwares. In addition, the phone support simple access to internet. The speed is fast, fast and fast. Wap, GPRS, EDGE, XHTML and HTML web browsering are strongly supported with HSDPA up to 3.6 MBPS. The best level is 7.2 MBPS but 3.6 is no need to complain, it does not effect. This internet focus phone really gives me the sense of browsering on my notebook.

GPS satellite navigation is the never missing function of Nokia smartphones. So do our Nokia E71. But for the reason I use GPS little, I won’t say more about it, but it is also on hot point list, so just mention this.

Besides those business functions or say, office functions like dealing with WORD, PDF and etc, E71 is good at multimedia function. Combination of 3.2 megapixel camera, digital zoom, LED flash, CMOS sensor is currently normal. But it is an improvement of the E series. The other fun with the phone comes from the video camera. I always make video record when playing with friends. One action is enough to change the photo mode to video mode. The digital zoom function enables me to catch figures more closely. And the big screen on the front gives nice watching experience. Further more, E71 is not weak on music playing. The music player supports most of music formats. Don’t worried about the voice quality, Nokia won’t make you disappointed.
