Sony Ericsson T707 – A Cool and Trendy Phone

Posted by phonehunter 25 January,2010

The Sony Ericsson T707 is a trendy phone that targets those who want high end phones, but can't spend too much for such phones. This GSM mobile phone supports HSDPA, making it possible to use it with 3G networks too. Loaded with features and introduced as the favorite toy of Maria Sharapova, popular Russian tennis player, Sony Ericsson T707 is guaranteed to attract phone lovers. You can't expect fashion embellishments with the phone, but it is pretty and handy. The dimensions are 93 x 50 x 14.1 mm and weight is 95 g which is pretty good for a flip model mobile phone. The phone is available in three hues – spring rose, mysterious black and lucid blue.

The Sony Ericsson T707 has a tiny 1.1” OLED display that displays upcoming events preview before even opening the phone. Close to the screen, you will find a round shaped dent that blinks in different colors depending on the events. In the phonebook, you can assign different colors to different people so that you can recognize who is calling. As you flip open the phone, you will find a neat 2.2” display with a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels. The navigational buttons and numeric keypad contain rounded buttons. Both the displays have scratch resistant surfaces, which is truly essential for such a glossy finish phone.

The Sony Ericsson T707 sports a simple 3.2 MP camera that is quite common with the midrange mobile phones. The camera takes pretty neat pictures good for uploading to your online profiles. Geo tagging and video calling is allowed depending on the network you choose. QVGA videos are captured by the camera at 15 fps. Media menu is nice and easy to use. However, the gallery shows you all the pictures taken using the camera. You can also photo blog the media content present in your mobile phone by instantly uploading photos to Picasa, Blogger, or Myspace. The music player is relatively simple with not much of options for ardent music lovers. The Sony Ericsson T707 also features a stereo FM radio with RDS.

Gesture control feature activates when you wave your hand in front of the sensor on the front face. You can use gestures to reject calls and mute sounding alarms which are an interesting option in this inexpensive mobile phone. The top of the phone has a glossy finish, but it is not quite matched by the back side of the mobile phone. At the back, you won't find anything interesting other than speaker and the Sony Ericsson logo.

The main menu layout is simple to use and there are not many interesting tweaks. Any novice mobile phone user will find the interface neat and organized. The messaging option is comfortable and there is a comfy option that helps you convert your SMS into MMS directly. The push email feature makes it easy for anyone to simply push the button and send emails instantly. Threaded view for SMS is a nice tweak for those guys who can't keep their hands away from sending messages.

The phonebook can store 1000 contacts and the photo calling feature is available. The internal memory is 100MB, but there is a MicroSD slot that supports SD cards of upto 16GB. Bluetooth and USB connectivity lets you synchronize your Sony Ericsson T707 with your personal computer and other compatible devices. GPRS EDGE support makes it possible to connect to internet. There is no Wi-Fi support with this phone. The NetFront WAP 2.0 browser is good for viewing websites. The mobile phone comes with 1 preloaded game, but many more can be downloaded. Standard battery supports 400 hours of standby time for 2G and 3G, and 10 hours of talk time with 2G and 4 hours of talk time with 3G networks.
